Well readers, I have some good news to share. After nearly three months of hard graft and serious mental toil, I am delighted to say that I have turned a corner and sent out my first two invoices today. Yep, not one, but two! My freelance gamble is finally starting to pay off.
It’s taken me a while and a little bit longer than I anticipated but finally, I am about to get paid for some work that I have completed, all on my own. I never thought I’d get excited about creating and sending out an invoice (after all, it’s a document full of numbers and numbers just aren’t my thing) but I have to admit, I am! In fact, I’d go so far as to say, I’m actually feeling pretty proud of myself right now.
When I left my job as marketing manager to go freelance, it was a risk, a BIG risk. And, whilst I accept that there will undoubtedly be tricky financial times ahead, for now at least, I’m savouring the moment.
So… to all of you who have wished me well and supported me on my journey so far, I’d like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU. Your kind words of encouragement have spurred me on, on the bleakest of days and in the darkest of nights.
And finally, to anyone out there who is thinking of taking the plunge into freelancing or who has just become a start-up freelancer, I wish you the very best of luck. It’s a tough ol’ journey for sure, but if I can do it, then so can you :)

Fabulous news, I’m very proud and so pleased its working out for you.I’m so glad that your beginning to live the dream and doing something you really enjoy.
